K1, BrusselA roundtable with Banu Cennetoğlu, Philippine Hoegen, Karol Radziszewski and Sister Library around artist-run libraries
Artists’ Libraries
Join us for a conversation between Banu Cennetoğlu, Philippine Hoegen, Karol Radziszewski and aqui Thami, whose practices encompass artists’ libraries. The conversation is moderated by Devrim Bayar and Grégory Castéra from KANAL.
Initiated by Banu Cennetoğlu and Philippine Hoegen in 2006, BAS is an artist(s)-run non-profit space in Istanbul, dedicated to the collection, exhibition, production and distribution of artists’ publications and printed matter.
Brussels Ass Book Fair guest artist Karol Radziszewski founded the Queer Archives Institute, an artist-run non-profit dedicated to the research, collection, digitisation, presentation, exhibition, analysis and artistic interpretation of queer archives, with a keen focus on Central and Eastern Europe.
Sister library, founded by aqui Thami, is an evolving artwork that engages with the visual and reading culture of our times, offering an in-depth reflection. It is also the first traveling, community-owned and community-run feminist library of South Asia.
